Poolesville Family
Acupuncture opened earlier this year as the private practice of Miki “Dolma”
Johanison, a 2009 graduate of the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, MD.
Since that time she has taken another step in fulfilling a health service need within
our community.Adding a business partner
(and fellow Buddhist Nun), Dawa Dellamula as well as a retail consultant named,
Chris Hodgson, Dolma anticipates
opening the doors to the Organic Market
& Holistic Center of Poolesville in the Spring of 2010.
f you see them hard at work
readying the space at 17710 Elgin
Road (formerly Jon’s Video), please stop in and offer
them encouragement. Both owners were inspired by the positive feedback that came
from Poolesville Community Day. Dolma serves as the creative visionary, and
Dawa is the pragmatic voice of the operation. Mr. Hodgson has over a decade in
retail management and inventory analysis from his years in Sedona, Arizona.
Together, they expect to create a whole-person approach to health with a local
outlet for organic farms in the surrounding area. The market design provides visibility
for the local farming community with in store recognition of their product and will
encompass a holistic center to provide wellness through acupuncture and
eventually other holistic services`will be added as community needs are identified.
The goal is to be local, buy local, and support local.
The team at the Organic
Market and Holistic Center of Poolesville are thrilled to be part of this town’s
commerce. All three are residents of Poolesville and hope to contribute
positively to the business and citizenship that will keep this town thriving.
With access to organic foods and goods providing essential nutrients and with acupuncture
relieving the stresses of life, it is possible to experience more health and
satisfaction. And isn’t that what we all want? Come explore holistic living,
it’s better for you.
